The road conditions were a mixture of packed snow and ice plus spots of exposed dirt. Once we hit the Wild Basin Trail it was mostly packed snow (a bit crunchy in spots) and ice. WebBeautiful hike with light snow for the first couple miles to Ouzel Falls. The parking lot at the trailhead is closed and you will have to hike an additional 0.7 miles to the trailhead from the parking lot. After Ouzel Falls the snow became knee deep in some areas and was lightly traveled. Would defiantly recommend bringing Microspikes of some sort. WebFrom the Ousel Falls trailhead descend an excellently designed and well-graded, wide dirt and gravel path. Along the way, multiple stopping points to view the river and ultimately Ousel Falls present themselves. At the end, take in the falls and enjoy the quiet surroundings. In winter, the falls become a series of towers of ice, a frozen grandeur.
